EXPOSITION & MORNING PRAYER – ST. COLUMBA:
Exposition before the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 8.10 a.m., followed by Morning Prayer, at 9.00 a.m., Monday to Thursday, except Wednesday when Morning prayer will commence at 8.50 a.m. followed at 9.10 a.m. by Novena Prayers to our Lady of Perpetual Succour prior to Mass.
St. Columba’s: Between 6.00 p.m. and 6.25 p.m. before the Vigil Mass. At other times by arrangement with Fr. Jonathan.

CHURCHES TOGETHER PRAYER WALK
A Churches Together Prayer Walk will take place on Saturday 16th September at 10.30 a.m. starting and finishing at the URC on Saughall Road. There will be refreshments afterwards.
MUSIC GROUP AT 11.00am MASS:
The Music Group restarts on Sunday 17th September. To keep the Group going we need more members, especially players. Do you play the flute, clarinet, recorder or guitar? Or do you enjoy singing? Please consider helping us to lead the singing at11.00 a.m. Mass on alternate Sundays from 17th September. Your only commitment is to come to the practice at 10.30 a.m. before Mass. The AGM of the Shrewsbury Diocese Lourdes Hospitality (which is made up of the teams of volunteer helpers) will be held at 2pm on Sunday 17th September at St. Wilfrid’s Parish Centre, Wilton Street, Northwich, CW9 5NP. Please note the date, as this is different from the one originally agreed at last year’s AGM. All members of the Hospitality are invited to attend. “SONGS OF PRAISE” SUNDAY 17th SEPT:
This is being held at 4.00pm in St. Thomas’s Church, Parkgate Road, in support of Christian Aid. The organist will be Matt Baker and a homily will be given by Trevor Dennis, retired Vice-Dean of Chester Cathedral. Refreshments to follow, gifts of cakes welcome.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES:
These classes are held in St. Columba’s Church Hall on Wednesday evenings in term time from 5pm to 6pm. They are for children who come to either St. Columba’s or St. Theresa’s churches but do not attend one of the Roman Catholic Primary Schools. The preparation for First Sacraments starts when the children are in Year 2 at school (age 6 in September). The start date this term is Wednesday 20th September.

A National Eucharistic Congress will be held in Liverpool in September 2018. As part of our preparation the theme for our next Catechists’ Day is: “The Eucharist: Food for our Joy”. We will ask how, as Catechists working with many different people, we can communicate this great truth of our faith. The Catechists’ Day is on Saturday 7th October, 10:00-13:00 at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School, CH65 7AQ. It is open to all Catechists and to anyone interested in this question. RED MISSION BOXES:
St Columba’s: Could those parishioners holding Red Mission Boxes please leave them in the sacristy for Marg Curtis to collect. You can collect your box again from the rear table in the church, thank you for your continuing support.
St Theresa’s: Sean Baker will collect the Red Boxes for St Theresa’s from Sunday 17th September from the Sacristy. If people would like him to collect in person, please contact him on 07920174529.
YOUTH GROUP FOR 10-14 YEAR OLDS:
Our new St. Columba’s and St. Theresa’s youth group, will begin on Monday 9th October, from 7.15 to 9pm. The group will meet on the second Monday of each month in the Iona Chapel, at the back of St. Columba’s church, then move over to the church hall. Each session will have a relevant theme, lots of faith based activities, games and fun, ending with prayers. FAMILY BEETLE DRIVE:
This year we will be holding the beetle drive at St Theresa’s parish centre, at 7pm on Friday 6th October. Please bring the family along to join in the fun. The bar will be open for people to buy drinks.
QUIZ NIGHT, FRIDAY 13th OCTOBER:
This is our annual Quiz Night, arranged in conjunction with Churches Together in Upton and held in St. Columba’s Hall, starting at 7.30pm. Admission on the door £1, nibbles provided, teas and coffees served, but bring your own wine. The Quiz is arranged for teams of six – these can be pre-arranged or made up on the night, so if you are “unattached” do please come along. Not too serious, it is always a very enjoyable evening. Proceeds go to CAFOD and Christian Aid.

Maria Lane is taking part in a Swiss Alpine Walk to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Anyone wishing to donate may do so by putting an envelope marked with her name in the offertory basket or given to Jane Walsh.
